Black Girls Rock are Women on the Move from the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia (BGR DMV) area, is a 501(c)3 committed to empowering the lives of young black girls and women by liberating their minds and changing the way the world perceives their strength.

We strive to enhance, develop and host events that:

Build self-esteem and self-worth to/for/with young girls and women of all ages;

Develop and facilitate networks among women in the DMV that will encourage bonds of friendship, mutual support and creative exchange of ideas and information;

Create opportunities where women can serve young girls and women in our communities in different facets of their lives throughout the region; and,

Commission and empower young girls and women to lead and serve.
